Advice to a younger me

We recently had a presentation to eighth graders on what we would tell ourselves from 4 years ago, and I liked the idea. These are my thoughts.

Find what you are passionate about. I spent so much time worrying about other people and what they thought of me. It was so freeing when I realized that I didn’t have to care. Working hard is so much easier when you know what you are working for and want that, and when I found the things I was passionate about, life became so much easier. Don’t let others tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing unless you really trust them.

Don’t be afraid to be obsessed. Working tirelessly at something is hard. It will be boring at times and will be hard at others. Don’t let these feelings stop you from doing the things you need to do in order to achieve your goals. Amazing things are possible if you only put in the work and don’t worry about others.

Surround yourself with people who inspire you. The people around you are who you will become. Being around people who are doing incredible things will push you to be better. Don’t be afraid to be the worst in the room if it means you are getting better.

Invest in bitcoin. It will top out at 60k.

Cherish every day. You don’t know how quickly everything will go by. Enjoy the little things in life at every step, even if they seem small.
